How to Make Money Fast and Easy Online

Would you like to find a way to make money fast and easy online? Many people are looking for quick cash. There are several ways to make fast money legitimately online. I am only going to go into one way here. But if this does not sound like a fit for you, just keep searching they are all around. That is the power of the internet. There are so many choices right at your finger tips.

The way I make money fast is by taking online surveys. Before you start rolling your eyes, surveys do pay and are an easy way to make money fast. You will not get rich from taking surveys, nor is it a solid business model. It is simple tool to get started one day and make easy money online the next. How much more easily can it be than to get paid for your opinion? I am a mother of 5 grown children and I know about giving out my opinion. And it is free and unheeded most of the time. Taking surveys for major companies make me feel like I am having a say in what is happening in the market place and even in our world. These survey companies need people to help make them billions of dollars and they are willing to pay you for these opinions.

Avoid the scam survey companies. Join a paid survey program. The price is usually under $50, but you will not be wasting time trying to fine a legitimate survey company. The objective is to find a way to make money fast not waste time. Many times the very day you join a survey program, you will be making easy money that same day. My first day of joining a survey program and I signed up to a couple survey companies in their database, I made $25 cash and $40 in dinner for 2 coupons to a local restaurant. Now that was making easy money fast.

I am not getting rich doing online surveys but I do take my survey taking seriously. I make enough money now that I do not work outside my home. The surveys are fun to do and I can do them any time of the day. Usually I do some first thing in the morning and maybe a couple in the afternoon and then several in the evening. I do not sit and do this for 8 hours a day. For me this is the best way to make money fast and easy online.

How To Make Money Online With Text Link Ads

Last month I reviewed Text Link Ads and explained how they help site owners make money online. Now let us take a look at a few simple tips that can help you increase your Text Link Ads earnings.

Sign up for Text Link Ads if you have not done so far.

  • Put your Text Link Ads above the fold:

Advertisers can count the number of clicks they get so it is very important to place the ad script in an area where your visitors will see and click. By improving the positioning of your ads on your web site you will sell more ads and will get a higher rate of renewal.

When a visitor wishes to advertise on your site, he will see if his link will be placed on an area where visitors of that site will notice. If you are placing the ad script on your sidebar, place them at the top where your visitors can see.

  • Place the ad script on the left side of your page:

You can choose where to place the links on your site, but remember that certain places can get you more money. You can use the Text Link Ads calculator to see how much a link is worth on your site depending on where you put it and whether you chose to offer a single page or a site wide link. The left side of your page can earn you the most and the link worth decreases as you move to the right side.

  • Choose how many ads you would like to display:

As a publisher you can choose how many ads you would like to display, and whether they will appear on a single page or sitewide. Be careful on what you choose because this will affect on how much each link on your site will cost. The more Ads you choose to appear, the lesser will be the price per link.

  • Update your Category Listing:

You can now update the category listing in the TLA marketplace anytime by logging into the “Edit Your Listings” page. Then click on “edit site details” and you will find the category selections in step two of the wizard. You can designate two unique areas where your site will be listed.

Choose two categories that best describes your site. This will help you get more advertisers, which translates into more money.

  • Increase your number of pages:

The more pages your site has, the more number of pages the Advertiser’s link will appear on. If you have a blog, write more posts to increase the number of pages and this will help you attract more advertisers.

  • Increase your Alexa Rank and Google Page Rank:

Get a higher ranking for your site and it will attract more advertisers and will get you a higher price per link.

AdSense

AdSenseAdSense is a contextual advertising program for which publishers simply have to add a piece of code to their sites that helps Google analyze what your page is about so they can serve Ads on that topic. This increases the chance of your visitors clicking the Ad which increases the chances that you will earn from them. AdSense is a quick and easy way for bloggers of all sizes to display Ads that are relevant to their content.

AdSense also allows you to earn money by using Google Search on your site that will display relevant Ads when visitors search on your site. AdSense also has a referral program that allows you to earn by recommending various products like Firefox toolbar, AdSense, Adwords, etc.

When a publisher who signed up for Google AdSense through your referral earns $5.00 within 180 days of sign-up, you will be credited with $5.00. When that same publisher earns $100.00 within 180 days of sign-up and is eligible for payout, you will be credited with an additional $250.00. If, in any 180 day period, you refer 25 publishers who each earn more than $100.00 and are all eligible for payout, you will be awarded a $2,000.00 bonus!

I have been a full time blogger now for more than a year and it was with the help of AdSense that let me earn through blogging. I use many revenue sources but AdSense is my biggest money maker. I highly recommend AdSense as a way of monetizing a site, especially for those just starting out.

How to get traffic for your blog

My friend Fred, a talented blogger, asked me for advice the other day. Here's a partial answer, with a few apologies to Swift:

  1. Use lists.
  2. Be topical... write posts that need to be read right now.
  3. Learn enough to become the expert in your field.
  4. Break news.
  5. Be timeless... write posts that will be readable in a year.
  6. Be among the first with a great blog on your topic, then encourage others to blog on the same topic.

  9. Write short, pithy posts.
  10. Encourage your readers to help you manipulate the technorati top blog list.
  11. Don't write about your cat, your boyfriend or your kids.
  12. Write long, definitive posts.
  13. Write about your kids.
  14. Be snarky. Write nearly libelous things about fellow bloggers, daring them to respond (with links back to you) on their blog.
  15. Be sycophantic. Share linklove and expect some back.
  16. Include polls, meters and other eye candy.
  17. Tag your posts. Use del.ico.us.

  25. Encourage your readers to subscribe by RSS.
  26. Start at the beginning and take your readers through a months-long education.

  29. Highlight your best posts on your Squidoo lens.
  30. Point to useful but little-known resources.
  31. Write about stuff that appeals to the majority of current blog readers--like gadgets and web 2.0.
  32. Write about Google.
  33. Have relevant ads that are even better than your content.
  34. Don't include comments, people will cross post their responses.
  35. Write posts that each include dozens of trackbacks to dozens of blog posts so that people will notice you.
  36. Run no ads.
  37. Keep tweaking your template to make it include every conceivable bell or whistle.
  38. Write about blogging.
  39. Digest the good ideas of other people, all day, every day.
  40. Invent a whole new kind of art or interaction.
  41. Post on weekdays, because there are more readers.
  42. Write about a never-ending parade of different topics so you don't bore your readers.
  43. Post on weekends, because there are fewer new posts.
  44. Don't interrupt your writing with a lot of links.
  45. Dress your blog (fonts and design) as well as you would dress yourself for a meeting with a stranger.
  46. Edit yourself. Ruthlessly.
  47. Don't promote yourself and your business or your books or your projects at the expense of the reader's attention.
  48. Be patient.
  49. Give credit to those that inspired, it makes your writing more useful.
  50. Ping technorati. Or have someone smarter than me tell you how to do it automatically.
  51. Write about only one thing, in ever-deepening detail, so you become definitive.
  52. Write in English.
  53. Better, write in Chinese.
  54. Write about obscure stuff that appeals to an obsessed minority.
  55. Don't be boring.
  56. Write stuff that people want to read and share.

Four Simple Ways to Make More Money with Adsense’s Firefox Referrals Program

Google Adsense has a referral program which will allow you to earn up to US $1 everytime you refer one new user to install the Firefox browser. The more people you convert to the Firefox browser, the more income you will earn from your website.

Unlike other Google Adsense units, this referral program allows you to directly recommend products by using action-based text, which directs a user to click through on any specific links or ad banners.

Google Adsense’s Help Center clearly shows that this is something that is allowed:

Actively endorse the products you refer. Unlike with AdSense for content ads, we encourage you to endorse referral products by calling attention to the button or text link. If you believe in the quality of the product that you’re referring, feel free to let your users know! Of course, in line with our policies, you may not click your own ads nor encourage conversions for deceitful reasons.

Why I Like Promoting Google’s Firefox Referrals Program

Firefox’s credibility, usefulness and excellent features is the main reason why you should consider using Adsense’s Firefox referral program. Firefox is really a terrific and secure web browser that I and many others love and you will only be adding value for your visitors, by actively promoting adoption and usage of Firefox.

Secondly, Firefox is a risk-free investment that anyone can make. The web browser is free for download and your visitor will not have to give their personal details or email addresses. This may make conversion more likely to occur than affiliate programs which require initial investment of some sort from the interested user.

If you would like to try the Firefox browser, I’ve attached a referral banner below. Note clearly how I’m openly endorsing the referral product by encouraging you to download and try it for yourself. Don’t be afraid to do the same for your website.

Copywriting Tips for More Firefox Referrals

Writing sales copy for Firefox referrals is not a difficult process and there are some key elements which may help to make your promotional text more efficient.

  • Mention Firefox Benefits. People need to know how Firefox will help them have a better and more efficient browsing experience. This list of benefits should be direct and factually accurate. You should also avoid overselling and the use of marketing speak or overly technical jargon.
  • Compare Firefox with other browsers. I have not seen many marketers do this and I do think this is one of the most important conversion tricks you can use. People want to know what they are currently using matches up to what you are pitching. They need to know they are missing out on something.
  • Include Referral links within Relevant Content. People are more likely to convert when you are promoting your affiliate link within a natural context, such as a relevant article on technology or one on Firefox itself.
  • Associate your Site with Firefox. One of the easiest ways to convert users who visit your website is to inform them your site is ‘best viewed with Firefox’, which may indeed be true. Tying your site to Firefox will encourage some loyal visitors to consider using the new browser to experience your site.
  • Outline Your Experiences. If you’ve been using Firefox for a long time, it will be useful to include your personal experiences you’ve had with other browsers and your opinions on Firefox. This will give your copy some validity while endowing it with a human voice which evokes empathy.

Four Simple Ways to Make More Money With Firefox Referrals

Here is a list of the four main ways to get more Firefox referrals. Do note that some of these tips can also be applied for all the other Google Referral programs as well.

I shall be writing more on Google Referrals specifically, but meanwhile these four points will help you set up Firefox referrals as an income source.

1. Create a Referral Landing Page or Fan Site

Simply register a generic domain name and set up a website or one-page sales letter outlining the benefits of using Firefox. Make it look clean, simple and helpful. Include your Firefox referral link throughout the copy or use a banner. You should choose to only show ads for non-Firefox users.

I have also seen referral websites encourage Firefox downloads by giving away free software and installation guides or user tricks. While they may seem like fan powered websites, they are thinly disguised affiliate sites whose ultimate aim is to get you to use their referral link and recommend others to their site.

There are some advantages in creating a referral site, namely because you can be used for social media sites like StumbleUpon. Here is an example (screenshot below) of a Firefox referral page, which I aptly discovered while stumbling.

The affiliate links are indicated with red arrows:

2. Write an Article about Firefox

Write about the Firefox browser or its plugins and features. Keep up to date on its developments and publish short blog posts about it. Alternatively if you own a tech-oriented blog, do a weekly or monthly roundup of Firefox related articles, themes and extensions.

If you have written about Firefox in the past (do a keyword search) visit those webpages/blog posts and insert referral links into the articles. This evidently will not work with sites in all content niches. Be very sure that your Firefox article adds value for your reader as well.

3. Use a Referral Banner or Text Link on your Website

This simply involves setting aside some space on your website and putting up a Firefox referral banner or text link. Places to consider include the space above your site logo, your blog sidebar, within the single post pages or in the footer itself.

Remember to include promotional copy (e.g. Browse the web safer with Firefox) as it will help to improve conversions. Here’s an example of a prominent ad banner strategically placed among content.

Making Money Through Adsense Firefox Referrals: A Look at Explorer Destroyer

I’ve only recently come across Explorer Destroyer, an interesting website which helps you to make more money from Adsense by switching users from Internet Explorer to the Firefox browser.

As you probably already know, Google’s Adsense referral program will pay you $1 for every person who downloads Firefox from your referral link.

Explorer Destroyer expedites the task of getting more Firefox referrals by offering a free script that allows you to automatically promote Firefox to IE users visiting your website.

Once the script is installed, a message which sells the benefits of using Firefox (along with your referral link) will appear to IE users when they visit your website or blog.

There are three types of settings for the script, depending on how aggressively you want to push for conversions. Installation instructions are clearly provided at the Explorer Destroyer website.

Level 1 will make IE visitors see a message across the top of the page, encouraging them to download Firefox.

level-1.jpg

Level 2 will direct IE Visitors to a splash plage with a download link and a link to continue to your site.

level-2.jpg

Level 3
will not allow anyone using IE to access your website. A splash page is shown instead with a Firefox download link. This seems to go against Google’s TOS, so you’ll have to use a regular, non-Adsense referral link instead.

level-3.jpg

It is interesting to note that Explorer Destroyer was started by a team of four people with the sole aim of overturning Microsoft’s dominance over the web browser market. Their manifesto offers more clues into Explorer Destroyer’s mission:

Firefox is one of the most important software applications in the world because it can play a big part in determining the future of the web. It is crucial that an open-source, standards-based web browser becomes the most popular browser, and Firefox has a shot at being that.

We’ve spent days fixing computers of our family members that have been hobbled by spyware that Internet Explorer allowed in. These annoyances alone more than justify a aggressive campaign to switch people to Firefox.

But what really matters is putting the internet back in the hands of the public and ensuring that the technology that will remake so much of our world in the next 30 years is a public resource not a corporate one.

The Explorer Destroyer idea does seem like it would lead to more Firefox downloads, although it seriously affects web usability because it interrupts the viewing experience of all visitors to your site.

Level 1 of the script setting is the least intrusive and will probably be the only one that is doable for most blogs or websites. Level 2 and 3 might be more successful in getting sign-ups but they will most definitely drive visitors away from your site as well.

See this parody website for an alternative perspective on Explorer Destroyer’s campaign to win more Firefox users.

I haven’t seen any other websites using the script so I’m not 100% sure if the script still works. If anyone has used it before or am currently using it, do leave a comment to let us know if it still works.

Update: According to various readers, the script apparently still works and you can try to download it from Explorer Destroyer’s website.
